Aug 26, 2008 - First light. Cutting entryways from foundry to new addition.
Sept 22, 2008 - Lights are on!
A new air exchange unit was delivered and placed on the roof of the new addition
on Sept 26, 2008.
We began moving the work area for our Large Grinding wheels with hydraulic
lifts into the new addition on Oct 1, 2008.
Then we moved the rest of our Grinding Room from the old foundry side to the
new addition.
This included moving the two new Barinder automated grinders. The move was
completed and the new grinding room was up and running as the month of October
winded down.
Early in November, the workers started construction of Cover structure for a
new additional Sand Tower.
On Nov 18th, delivery of the Secondary sand tower was made to Torrance
Casting along with a 350-ton crane.
That same night, the sand tower was lifted into place - through the roof and
directly onto the floor of the foundry.
Two weeks later, the cover was put into place over the sand tower. As you can
see, we had a little snow fall and some windy conditions to make things
interesting.
