Building Expansion - Summer of 2008

In May of 2008, we started a building expansion project on the North side of our facility. This 14,000 square foot addition is part of a $2.5 million expansion project to increase the production capacity of our sand system and further improve our sand quality. It will also greatly improve the product flow through our cleaning department. This expansion project is slated to be completed in mid-October, 2008.

This is the initial phase of an overall $8 million capital expenditure program. Within the next 2-3 years, we will further streamline the product flow within our cleaning department, add two additional melting furnaces and add a 32x32 DISA Matchplate Automatic Molding System. The net effect of these changes will be to double our overall plant capacity to produce quality castings for our customers. We are excited at the possibilities this addition will bring to our customers.

As you can see, even with the unexpected heavy rains that devastated much of the surrounding area in the upper Midwest, the groundwork for this addition was still largely completed by mid-June with the first support column being erected on June 25, 2008.
